Mocha Latte was (and always will be) the Canine Founder of
Benefit Beagle, and in hindsight we know that she spent her days teaching us what Benefit Beagle needed to be.  “Special needs” really means special abilities.

Mocha Latte was the mascot of an insurance agency and provided all of her office humans with daily love, while also being a source of comic relief when the workdays were stressful. She reminded us to take care of
ourselves (snacks are important) and that random “aarrroooos” are pawfectly acceptable.

 Even though Benefit Beagle’s original purpose was a
marketing company, our business plan started evolving in 2015 when Mocha
suffered a spinal cord injury, caused by Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD).  IVDD caused her paralysis twice. Yes, 2 times. With expert care, sprinkled with a bunch of learning, adapting, and lots of love, both times she was able to regain almost full mobility and live a full, vivacious life.  She was
headstrong, fiercely independent while also being completely dependent on us,
spunky, sassy, loving, bold, intelligent, and a million other amazingly magical things. 

 Throughout our journey together, we saw a gaping hole in the world of pet care.  As human furparents,
we were absolutely clueless about how to care for her special needs in the beginning and were shocked to see how little information was available to manage her everyday needs.  We also
quickly found that most pet products available were simply not designed to be special-needs-friendly.  And if they were functionally safe for special needs, they had absolutely no pawsonality.  That's the gaping hole: from puppyhood to active senior, there's a complete lack of cohesion. This one-stop wonderland will put everything in one place; prevention, education, tips and advice, downloadables, advocacy, financial planning, legal resources, and a long list of other amazingness.
